How cute was this sweet little one during her first year cake smash photography session in Carmel, IN? Getting a smiley baby makes me giddy. Her smile was so contagious that I couldn’t help giggle myself. Her gorgeous mom was just as smiley herself so I am not surprised we got so many great shots with this super happy baby!

Did she love her simple but perfect cake I provided for this first year photoshoot? Not really. But thats the way it goes sometimes! I always say that one year cake smash sessions can go either way, and it just depends on baby’s personality. Are they more reserved and cautious? Or are they all in—smashing, grabbing, and tasting everything in sight?

Either way, it’s all part of the story. The photos we captured still showed her sweet little expressions, tiny finger pokes, and that curious look she gave the frosting like it was the strangest thing she’d ever seen. And honestly? That’s the magic that I capture.
