Most family photo sessions take place outdoors somewhere your family can relax, explore, and enjoy just being together. Think flowy fields in beautiful parks, cool textured bridges or even the vintage charm of a downtown spot in an alley for a more urban vibe.
We will decide on a location together. I have a lot of beautiful locations around the Indianapolis and Hamilton County area. Spots with a lush, forest vibe, beautiful open fields, and more.
We will talk about the style of images you want & then decide what best fits your family’s needs.

I typically shoot family sessions in the summer & fall when the foliage, lighting & weather are at its best. I do shoot family sessions in the spring on occasion.
For returning clients, I offer my mini sessions on specific dates and locations.

I typically shoot during golden hour. Either at sunrise or sunset when the light is soft, warm, and magical.

Once your session is booked and retainer paid, the next question I usually get is: "what should we wear?" I totally get it. Planning outfits for your family can feel overwhelming. But it doesn’t have to be!
From early on, I realized that wardrobe styling plays a huge part in creating not just beautiful, cohesive images. But also a more enjoyable and stress-free experience for my clients.
I do provide a Pinterest board of my favorite looks for families to help coordinate their outfits. Want to send me a photo of what you already have chosen and need help with final decisions? Absolutley! I will help you choose what I feel will look best in our chosen location.
Whether you’re dressing your partner, toddler, or teen. I try to Pin coordinating outfits which are designed to complement each other seamlessly, no matter what you choose.
From start to finish, I’m here to make the process as smooth and enjoyable as possible and wardrobe is just one of the ways I love to support you.

We want the best experience for everyone so if we need to talk it through to make sure it will work, let’s do so!
Sometimes bringing along an extra pair of hands to help with these guys makes for a smooth session as well!

Absolutely! Although this session is geared towards the immediate family, I welcome grandparents to join in or even just come as support.
Sometimes we need that extra familiar face in the background helping with all the little unfiltered smiles.
Please note… More than one set of grandparents may call for an extended session but we can discuss that as well!

Mini sessions are perfect for families who just need a handful of updated photos—whether it’s for holiday cards, yearly milestones, or a quick seasonal refresh. These sessions are short, simple, and offered on select dates.

The Family Portrait Session Experience
Your Family Session Details:
Location: Family sessions are outdoor sessions only—in Indianapolis and the surrounding northeast areas (Carmel, Fishers, Westfield). Once your retainer is paid and your date is set, we’ll choose the perfect park, field, or hidden gem for your family.
Who Can Join
Trained pets are ALWAYS welcome to be part of the session.
What to Wear I’ll help you coordinate outfits, suggest where to shop, and make sure everyone looks cohesive without being overly “matchy.”
Session Length
Full family sessions run about an hour—plenty of time for group shots, candids, and some playful fun.
What You’ll Receive
Each session comes with a gallery of downloadable digital images (the number depends on the session booked) and options to turn your favorites into framed art, albums, and gifts.
A Word about Mini Sessions!
Mini sessions are reserved exclusively for returning clients. They’re shorter (15 minutes) and available only on select dates—typically in the summer & Fall and sometimes in spring depending on availability. Minis are a great option for families who’ve already experienced a full session with me and just want a seasonal update or a few fresh images.

Step 1: Let’s Connect

The best way to communicate is by email so I can answer everything clearly—and you’ll have it all in writing to look back on. I know you’ve got a lot on your plate, so I’ll make sure every step feels simple and stress-free while you decide if I’m the right fit for your family.
Step 2: Booking & Planning
Once you know I’m the right fit, it’s time to make things official.
A paid retainer secures your spot, and I’ll send a simple reminder so you don’t have to keep track of it yourself. Together we’ll choose a date and time that works best for your family—and makes the most of the light for your session. You’ll also get my prep guide with tips on what to expect, how to get your family ready, and answers to the most common questions.
And if anything else comes up along the way? I’m here to make sure you feel prepared and supported from start to finish.
Step 3: Our Session Day
This is the fun part.
You’ve already done the planning—now you just get to show up and enjoy your family.
I’ll guide you through everything, from where to stand to how to interact naturally, so you never feel stiff or unsure. Expect plenty of play, laughter, and connection. My goal is to make the session feel relaxed and easy while capturing the real moments that show who your family is right now.
When it’s over, you’ll kids will say they had fun, and your husband will say it wasn’t too bad afterall!
Step 4: Proofs & Final Gallery
Within one week of your photoshoot, you’ll receive a proofing gallery to review.
You’ll pick your favorite images and once you send your selections, I’ll finalize the edits and deliver your finished images in a downloadable online gallery within 7 business days.
