Welcome Baby Sophia | Indianapolis Newborn Session

Mom Lindsey reached out not long before her newest little one arrived, and I just loved photographing this newborn session for her growing Indianapolis family! We did this session in my studio in late January- because Indiana winters are freezing! Mom and her husband, Mike, big brother Milo (8), big sister Kaley (6), and baby Sophia at just 8 days old were all so sweet together as they settled into life as a family of five.

Lindsey owns her own business, so she needed everything to feel simple and efficient. We started with family and sibling photos first, then Dad took the big kids to school while Mom relaxed and I finished Sophia’s solo portraits.

Milo and Kaley wanted to be part of every photo with their new baby sister, which made the sibling portion especially fun. We photographed everyone together on the bamboo daybed with neutral pillows, and Mom’s outfit choices looked amazing! Dad and Milo wore oatmeal knit sweaters, Mom wore a cream blouse, Kaley wore a white dress, and Sophia was swaddled in cream. Neutral and classic, which is definitely my style.

For Sophia’s individual baby portraits, we used dusty rose and sage green, which looked beautiful on her skin tone. Between the wraps, floral headbands, baby bed prop and simple setups, every part of her session came together in a clean, natural way that was perfect for this sweet baby girl.

If you’re looking for an Indianapolis newborn photographer who offers a simple, relaxed studio experience for growing families, I’d love to photograph this special time for you.
